How do I look?

I went to Paris Baquette to buy a cheesecake last morning. Because today is my husband's birthday. When I went to there, I dressed up like usual Monday.^^ The manager of the store said "Good morning." and "You look so different compare with last Friday."

As soon as I went back to home, I slept on the couch for a while and then I went to Paris Baquette last Friday night. Can you imagint how did I look?

Yet in Korean society we still tend to judge a person by his or her appearance.

Is one's appearance really important? What do you think?

  1. Unfortunately, it's still importent.

That's why fashion business still makes money.

Before asking others, we ought to ask to ourselves,

Are you sure that you won't judge others by their appearance?

I like to say yes but I can't.
I need to keep training my mind.

  2. I try not to judge by the apearance, but it is not easy.

Actually, if someone has a good appearance or wear nice, I get interedsted in the person.

But when someone is too beautiful (not so~), I never talk to her or(him).
Because the person make me frustrated about my appearance.

    And one more.
I don't want to be judged by just appearance or first impression.
    (paradox..)

  3. I think almost people judge others by their appearance, me too.

But I think , people are not affected by the appearance long time.

Their personality or any distinction attract people long time.

I think you are always real cool.
I want to be like you, your english also.^^

  4. Hi Kelly,
It's a proven fact that taller people make more money over their life times than shorter people. It's also been proven that attractive people have an easier time getting jobs or service at a business and are viewed as 'better' people. Attractive students will even get more attention from their teachers in some cases.

To go one step further, Darwin said that attractiveness was related to 'percieved good health' and played an important role in sexual selection and evolution.

I'm not sure we can fight that kind of biology even though, as enlightened people, we know it's wrong to judge a book by it's cover. I guess we need more evolving!
